Cake Wallet 6.0
Covers v6.0.0 (February 25, 2026) through v6.0.3 (March 21, 2026). Read more on the blog: Lightning is (finally) here and Our Lightning Journey.
Highlights
Cake Wallet has been completely redesigned: new home screen, send, receive, swap and settings screens, plus a customizable balance card so you choose which assets and totals appear up front.
Bitcoin Lightning has arrived. Send and receive Bitcoin in seconds with low fees, built on the Spark Layer 2 via the Breez SDK, and move funds between your on-chain Bitcoin and Lightning balances inside the same wallet.
Claim your own Lightning address so people can pay you without you generating an invoice first.
View your Bitcoin balances and amounts in sats instead of BTC.
Unconfirmed balance is now shown separately on the home screen, so you can see funds that are still confirming.
Estimated fees are clearer across chains: Solana, Tron, Ethereum and Base now show readable amounts instead of scientific notation.
Improvements & fixes
v6.0.0 — February 25, 2026
More accurate sync ETA, and node switching now prefers healthy, unused nodes.
Pay Anything: better detection of EVM addresses and payment links when you paste or scan.
Zcash: address detection in the send flow, remembered fee priority, and a Zcash-specific balance card option.
Monero: customize each account from the new account picker.
Litecoin MWEB and coin control rebuilt for the new design, including MWEB toggles on the send page.
Haptic feedback, pull-to-refresh and keyboard handling refined throughout the app.
Hardware wallets: send amount handling fixed, and Lightning is hidden where it does not apply.
v6.0.1 — March 5, 2026
Lightning polish: fee estimation and recipient handling fixed, Lightning addresses load faster, and Cake Pay orders can now be paid over Bitcoin Lightning.
Turn Lightning support on or off from Settings.
New in-app changelog screen shows what changed after you update, and Settings gains an About page.
Swap improvements, a clear "Transaction sent!" confirmation on the swap sheet, and fixes for switching wallets mid-swap.
Export Lightning and Payjoin logs from Settings so support can diagnose payment issues.
Copy a receive URI that already includes the amount, straight from the Receive screen.
Litecoin MWEB balance is no longer counted twice, and enabling MWEB coins works again.
Solana: send-all fixed, and pasting a Solana address no longer wrongly starts the Pay Anything flow.
Fixed WalletConnect in the redesigned app, plus fixes to rescan, the node form, address rotation, and keyboard behavior.
Translation fixes for Spanish, French, German and Dutch, plus a broad translation refresh.
v6.0.2 — March 16, 2026
Redesigned Settings, and transaction history filters are back in the new interface.
Noticeably faster app: smoother transaction list scrolling, quicker receive QR rendering, and faster screen loads.
More swap pairs on Chainflip: wBTC on Ethereum and USDT on Solana and Arbitrum, plus fixes for USDC and ETH on Arbitrum.
Hardware wallet QR scanning now accepts BC-UR animated QR codes.
Better large-screen support, including layout fixes for iPad windowed and split-screen mode.
Bitcoin transactions now use the standard replace-by-fee sequence value, so fee bumping behaves as expected.
Lightning: fiat amount calculation on send fixed, and Blink payments fall back to direct broadcast if the first attempt fails.
Swap fixes for external sends, "send all" with fiat entry, and deposit address switching.
v6.0.3 — March 21, 2026
Swaps.xyz and StealthEX are currently disabled as swap providers; all other providers are unaffected.
Complete Brazilian Portuguese translation.
Lightning and Payjoin log export are enabled again in release builds.
Lightning updated to the latest Breez SDK, plus assorted swap fixes.
Fixed OpenCryptoPay payment requests in the send flow, and switching receive options after generating a Lightning invoice.
New wallets are now reliably saved immediately after creation, plus minor UI and layout fixes.
